#MediaGoals
While attending the 2015 Tom Joyner Family Reunion in Kissimmee, FL, I happen to come across a media mogul who was so kind. It was a pleasure meeting founder of Radio One, TV One, and Interactive One Cathy Hughes.
For CIAA 2015 in Charlotte, NC I went to a live broadcast of the Tom Joyner Morning Show.

Mass Communication Department's Second Annual Undergraduate Symposium
I had the honor of presenting two group research projects at Winthrop University's Mass Comm Symposium. One of the projects (left) was about bettering water infrastructure. We based some of our research from "Sponge City" in California. The use of permeable driveways in a small neighborhood helped collect water for 30 families for a whole year, however, this innovation was quite expensive exceeding $2 million. The other project (right) focused on the use of social media in college. We wanted to see if habits on sites/apps such as Facebook, Twitter, and Yik Yak matured over a person's college career. We also found that there wasn't a big difference between freshmen and seniors feeling comfortable with future employers or professors looking at their social media accounts. From the Anchor's Desk at Winthrop Close Up

I attended Soledad O'Brien's PowHERful event. It was such a great event where high school and college students got together and basically just talked about different issues that relate to our age such as finding the right career, finances, as well as inner and outer beauty. Some of the speakers were of course Soledad O'Brien, Natasha Eubanks, Kathy Ireland, Tatyana Ali, Michaela Angela Davis, and representatives from companies such as Google.
Interning at NBC's New York Live

It was a pleasure listening to Andy Cohen's advice to the interns. He talked about how important it is to never give up on our dreams no matter how many times things don't go the way you want them to. He said there were many times when people told him "no," but that didn't stop him from perusing his passion in television.

I got to tag along on a shoot with Jacque Reid for New York Live during my internship. Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson made a surprise appearance at an event for children. He later sent them to a private screening of the movie "Hercules." We were there to cover the event and talk to him about the movie and his other projects in the works.
These are the photos from the Fit Factory Fab event mentioned in my previous blog about my first week in New York City.
Stumbled across Nathan's on accident. Read "My First Week In New York City" blog to fully understand the significance.
Above are photos from when I visited the set of Entertainment Tonight at CBS Studios in Los Angeles, CA. I observed how the show was put together in the control room and later visited other sets of shows.

These are some photos from the Howard University Job and Internship Fair. While there, I networked with media professionals and had a few interviews. One was with The Wall Street Journal. After the job fair, we toured the DC area and went to the Newseum.
